WHY GRANADA?
Unique Location
Granada offers a variety of beautiful landscapes, both by the Mediterranean sea on the Costa Tropical and in the mountains of Sierra Nevada. The highest mountains in the Iberian Peninsula are in Sierra Nevada’s national park, with the highest peak, Mulhacén, reaching over 11,000 feet above sea level, making it a world class destination for skiing and winter sports. The south slopes of Sierra Nevada contain a historic region of white painted little villages that are the perfect spot to hike around in the spring.
Granada’s coast, only an hour's drive from the city center, is naturally charming and diverse, where you can find sheer cliffs, small private coves and wide sandy beaches popular with vacationers - both local and foreign. This beautiful stretch of coastline invites all kinds of activities, from relaxing on the beach to water sports such as kayaking, paddleboarding, and even scuba diving and snorkeling in the crystalline waters of the Mediterranean Sea.
Just two hours away from Granada you can find Sevilla, Andalucía’s capital, the third most visited city in Spain after Madrid and Barcelona. Positioned on the Guadalquivir river, Sevilla once controlled all trade from the Americas and therefore played a significant role in Spain's 16th century world hegemony. Presently, the city boasts an unrivaled blend of historic landmarks and modern marvels, in addition to a rich culinary, fashion, and arts scene that will keep any visitor entertained for days.
Córdoba, another neighboring city and world-renowned travel destination, is also just two hours from Granada. Once the center of the Muslim world and the capital of the great empire Al Andalus, to this day travelers come from across the world to visit Córdoba's stunning Mosque-Cathedral. This UNESCO World Heritage Site puts Córdoba on the map as a must-see in Europe.
